Our Team

The DoDropin conference server is made possible by a Cracker Jack team of experts and the contributions of many of our regulars. The DoDropIn is a collaborative effort, created by a wonderful sense of belonging and cooperation that is a hallmark of our community, made up of listeners and regulars. We don’t have a lot of checkins, we have a lot of contributors.

Administration

William Lieber – N9OFU-Owner/Operator

William (Bill) Lieber owns the DoDropIn and pays the bills. He is also our foremost peacekeeper. In a sometimes tumultuous system, Bill is our even keel. Bill took over and restarted the DoDropIn when its original owner passed away. He has even adopted that original owner’s call sign, N9OFU.

Darryl Warford – VO1UKZ – System Manager

Darryl Warford is from a very old Newfoundland family and spent most of his life “on the rock.” He works in IT as an independent contractor. He has done a long stint in Africa for the Canadian government but now likes it better at home. Darryl is not shy about picking up new knowledge and attacking new challenges to keep DoDropIn going.

Net Controls

Russell (Rusty) Baker – KB9NSK

KB9NSK is the originator of the KOWABUNGA net and is a long time member of the DoDropIn community. He has a laid back style and often just lets the Hams do the talking.

Darryl Warford – VO1UKZ

VO1UKZ may surprise you with his candor and his bravery to express his opinion. A true Newfoundlander, Darryl is not afraid to rant and roar, however hams find him very welcoming and he has along history of “first contacts”. Darryl, has been a net control on the DoDropIn for years and years.

Kevin Paquette – KM1X

KMIX lives in the southern part of Maine near Portland and Sebago Lake. He has worked in academia for the last 30 years but before that he was in broadcast journalism. Kevin has successfully managed one of the most popular nets on the DoDropIn for more than 2 years, the Saturday morning KOWABUNGA net. His easy going style and delivery makes Kevin a pleasure to listen to.

Prentiss Gray – KC2PKG

KC2PKG, who goes by Gray is also a resident of the great state of Maine. He lives just about as far East and North as you can go in the U.S. of A. He is relatively new at the DoDropIn and has been a Net Control for a little more than a year. Gray runs the Monday morning edition of the KOWABUNGA and is always on the lookout for something to try out and make that Net more accessible and informative.

Most favored alternates

Kevin Kwan – VA3KKY

Whenever we lose a net control for a day Kevin can be counted on to step bravely in. If it’s planned or just a sudden issue, Kevin is always there. An experienced hand with years of solid amateur radio bona fides, Kevin is our man. He’s smart, fun, entertaining and we are lucky to have him at the ready.
